How we will deal with your application
Once your application is received, we will assess it to ensure that all relevant details have been supplied (see note on visits below). Any queries or requests for further information will be followed up and all eligible applications will be put before the Trustees at the next appropriate meeting.
We normally need to receive applications at least two-three weeks before the next meeting, although Relief in Need late applications may also be considered as additional applications at the next scheduled meeting.
Trustee Ordinary Meetings, which consider grants from organisations and groups, meet five times a year at 2-3 month intervals.
The Relief in Need Committee, which considers Relief in Need applications, including Education grant applications, meets 10 times a year, roughly every 4-5 weeks.
Applications under £600 are considered in advance by the Chairman and ratified at the forthcoming meeting. All applications over £600, and Education applications, are considered by the full Committee.
NB: Grants are made on an annual basis and the Trustees decision is final in all cases.
Visits
Organisations and groups applying for grants may be visited by the Clerk in connection with their application.
Individuals applying directly for Relief in Need grants will be visited at home by the Grants Administrator. A home visit must be carried out before your application can be submitted to the Trustees.
Hearing about your application
After the appropriate meeting, you will be informed in writing of the decision taken and any necessary purchase orders or cheques will be sent to you (or the appropriate agency) at that time. You will normally hear from us within two weeks of the meeting.
